We took a trip to check out Neurum Creek Bush Retreat A group of us were thinking of spending the long weekend in June there.
We drove around the campgrounds and were impressed, this is an ideal area for a relaxing retreat for the whole family including your dogs, where you can kick back from the hustle and bustle of city life.
There are shared power sites supporting large groups, you can talk to Tracey( in the office) if you require individual bookings, there are flat areas that cater for caravans, plenty of places for camper trailers and tents, lots of smaller areas for small family groups.
There Are a Number of Tracks
The Stoney Creek
This track forms the boundary of Neurum Creek Bush Retreat, and is accessible on foot. There is a walk path that can be followed from either end of the property; this path is approximately 1.5 kms long.
The Lower Slopes Track
This track traverses the lower slopes of the property and links to both the Stoney Creek Track and the Northern Mountain Track.
The Zig Zag Track
This track leads from behind area “E”, up the central mountain. This track is constructed for much of the way and then is reduced to a hiking trail for the rest of the way to the escarpment. There are spectacular views over the countryside from this track.
Twin Gorges
The Twin Gorges walk is accessed from the back of area “D”. This is a walk for the keen and fit walker as it is all natural.
The South Knoll Track and Split Rock
This track is constructed for much of the way. It is a mini Zig Zag track and offers great views both north and south along the valley. Split Rock is a viewing area above the Twin Gorge.
The Northern Mountain Track
This is a constructed track for much of the way and then becomes a hiking trail to the top of the mountain. You can then walk south, joining up with other trails on the property to return to your camp.
Bullock Gorge
This is the northern gorge and is largely unexplored. There are no man made tracks in this virgin country.

Going back again
We had checked this area out about 10 years ago but was at that stage not impressed, but we were presently surprised by great improvements made by the present owners of Neurum Creek Bush Retreat
They have put so much work into this place, which is not far out of Brisbane, making it an excellent destination and having the friendly feel of a great country retreat. We have fallen in love with this place so we are going back again for the May long weekend.
Neurum Creek Bush Retreat is a privately owned and operated business as such you must register at the office upon arrival, whether you are camping, staying for the day or just wanting to have a look around.
About the owners
Simon and Tracey reside on the property so are never far away if you need them for help, or advice, whether it be with your camp set up or where to go and what to do on this property, or in the surrounding district.
Their aim is for you to have a hassle free break, to enjoy your stay and to go home feeling that you want to come back and visit with us again.
You can sit back and relax, taking in the natural beauty of this property with its abundance of bird life and butterflies, or you can be energetic and explore this 127 hectare property. Walking alongside the creek, or over the hillside tracks is a favorite with most visitors. Those that are fit enough can take the challenge of walking the mountain tracks or tackling the twin gorges. It’s up to you, do as little or as much as you like!
